I did that, and it definitely helped, but it still crashes to desk top the majority of launch attempts. The weird (but good) news is that if you try enough times, it does launch. Once in, everything is stable. I'm exploring some possible ways to improve my luck in this area. I do run into the same thing that others have reported, the game not being to recognize "Location #" but as far as I'm concerned, that's pretty minor (I just use grid coordinates anyway).
