Did you try switching to the UK speech model in the options menu to see if it improves? 'Dig in' should work.

The reason Engineers use 'build fortifications' rather than 'dig in' is to show that engineers can build better fortifications than regular infantry.

thing is "build forticications worked for all units (the other units digging in instead of building fortifications. I tried to pronounce Dig in in all forms i could think off it never worked that way.
