I actually like this variation simply because it isn't just copy paste and the mechanics still make sense
Yes you can, but the animation indicates that the bolt is still closed. When you rack the charging handle on an AR15 with an open bolt it has a lot of play and there's no resistance. The animation they use indicates that there's resistance like the bolt is shut. Not only that but it's not common practice. You can do it yes, but its not practical. When you're in a firefight you want to use the bolt release so you can put lead down range again quicker.
