Having the same issue.

yea the problem with the donut shop right now is that its automatically set to produce all the items, but if you hover over a donut it'll say it production step process, if you dont have like the donut glazer, chocolate thingy, and sprinkler machine, you can't do those donuts yet, try moving the items and resetting to the basic donuts to fix it until you get the license to fix the other donuts

although it sounds like you have that all setup, you might wanna check the process again

yeah exactly what that guy said above fixes it 100% .. but there is also a path-finding issue with deploying the final evolution of the product into the food display stand .. you almost need direct eye line of sight to the back of it and for it to not be too bunched up against walls and corners to even get it in there .. as in if its in a very compact area they will not simple walk around the back they will throw it on the floor near it...

UPDATE
so a mixture of suggestions worked.
I put the filter on the dough section to only take the classic doughnut and put the chute right in the middle so there is plenty of free space around it. now the can store it, we will see if they can sell it ))

With the first level of donut license, you can only built the first sort of donut.
With the second one, you can build chocklate donuts, as well.

Problem is, that the customers mostly want to have the donuts from the last donut license, so most customers will leave without buying, when your license is only on level 1.

Setting to classic donut and moving the stations around fixed this for me... but they should really default to only producing classic at first (or only whatever level of license you have when placing them). Very little way of figuring out this issue ourselves in-game :/

It kinda bugs me that all retail type games replicate this behaviour when in real life I feel like it would be idiotic to walk into a store that has only classic donuts on the menu and ask for fancy pink donuts with sprinkles! I mean fair enough the customers have desires but look there's an advertised menu and we sell classic donuts... do you expect pink donuts to magically appear just because you asked? :/ Buy the classic or jog on!

Wish I didn't have to deal with the negative vibes from not immediately filling out a menu with every single product on earth...
