You'll certainly have a lot of fun with this one.. keep in mind its in EA so expect bugs/issues to arise at any time for the time being until the devs get around to fixing them, and the reported ones.
As far as the SteamDek thing.. i'm not sure myself.. if it does work i'd imagine it would quite difficult to use.. 'cos you need the mouse to move things around on the editor, rotate the camera in the editor whilst building, and stuff.
I've actually programmed several games to run using only the track pads as mouse controls and back keys for shortcuts - such as The Witcher 1 - and they work exceedingly well. I could always connect a mouse and keyboard and dock it when I decide which dock to buy, so I wouldn't mind if it's clunky. My only concern is it actually running since it still early release and it says unsupported.
Hook up a mouse and give it a try. lol

I haven't really tried to troubleshoot what causes the crash yet, but since the modified kmyCore.dll was accessible via the Win7 guide, I did try that really quick and it doesn't resolve this crash on Steam Deck. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2876781799
And yes it crashes in Desktop Mode at the same point too.
