Nice idea.. needs work?
Game Maker Bakin needs a lot of work, the original was basically just a eye-candy hollow editor.. RPG walking simulator (walk here, turn-based battles, talk, talk, walk, battle).. no soul but also nearly no effort on the making of the software or needed when making near nothing.

What you cant do:

Events:
- cant use timer events
- cant do day/night switching
- cant do weather switching
- cant manipulate objects
- cant grab user key input
- cant do even basic if / for / then / else/ goto/ and/ or/ whilst/ wait x.y time/ event commands

Its just so bad its laughable (im used to using event systems.. i use a program on my phone called Tasker daily to run many things in the house via event driven commands.. i use scratch BYOB with my niece & nephew and that can achieve more than this whole 'builder' sadly.. and that's more like power-point with events)

Other:
- cant change the battle system (how battles work) there always like that turn-base slow fights.. you cant change to button mash or even timed events etc..

- cant CODE at all, there is NO IDE.. you cant make your own game even remotely unique.. you cant program the whole game in the IDE as there isnt one.. the devs thought that not including one was a great idea so that YOU cant really make a game how YOU want (no C, C#, C++, Java, As3, Assembly, Fortran, Basic or even a basic language like python or Perl), you cant then code effects into the game.

- you cant even use the 3D character creator to import your own models and edit them.

- you cant do movies for the game

- you cant even manipulate things on the 'map' to change there shape/width/height so there stuck at the size there are.. which is stupid.

- you cant change the way the RPG game plays, its just a walking simulator with basic RPG elements, you cant add features, you cant harvest stuff, you cant swing a sword outside of battle etc, you cant really make a RPG game other than something so simple its not fun.

- you cant change the stats, you cant change the way damage is calculated.

- cant seem to add a backdrop/background to the game easily

- cant control the camera easily whilst building

- you cant even layer objects

- cant place enemies in a meaningful or easy/useful way

- no built-in animation editor or anything to make a character in 3D

THESE are just a SMALL FEW of the problems this 'software' actually has.. the only people finding this thing useful are kids with an age less than 5 s this is more like VTech Software (and that could at-least program on some models).

TLDR: basically wait tll its out of early access as theres to much that needs work..
Looks good.... but.. its just so bad, stick to anything else.. even RPGMaker95 lol

So just briefly reading this. I imagine you did not spend enough time working with the engine because the majority of these things can be done quite easily.

Exactly, the fact he refunded screams to me also that he only used the engine within the few odd hours it was allowed for refund. Just not enough time spent exploring it. He probably found it too difficult to navigate and use within those 2 hours, it IS frustrating for most people at first to use (short of those who used SGB beforehand), because let's face it.. its NOT that intuitive to use, but he probs lost his patience with it 'cos it clearly ain't as easy as using VTECH toys OR RPG Maker.

==============

I agree i did not spend hours & hours clicking to find functions, i did have the software but at that time i asked if it could do what i asked & the reply then was no.. it didn't have that functionality yet, thus i did get a refund as it did not meet my expectations of what a good RPG maker is or needed.. instead i got other software capable of doing the same or more for a better-price, slightly more work, but more flexibility.

so.. my questions are:
- does it have an IDE and allow coding in a normal language?
(Assembly, Basic, C, C#, C++, Java, J2ME, AS3, Fortran, Cobal, Python, Ruby, or other).

Events:
- cant use timer events ??
- cant do day/night switching ??
- cant do weather switching ??
- cant manipulate objects ??
- grab user key input ??

- get real time?

- can use events such as if / then / else / and / or / do / goto ??

- built-in animation editor or anything to make a character in 3D ??

- layer objects or models ??

- manipulate things on the 'map' to change there shape/width/height ??

- use the 3D character creator to import your own models and edit them ??

sylardean - no need to follow me so closely & watch every little post i make just to post replys to defend your precious software so you veel some validation somewhere.. we all have an opinion.. just because mine doesn't meet yours doesn't mean i need your reply, you also said in a post you got a refund so you can stop acting like you some higher being.. oh holy one.., i know you need a hug.. but ask someone else i don't want to hold your hand, thanks.

Think your imagining things, I didn't say I got a refund at all, it's still in my library, and ive used this software for MANY hour well over 2000+ hours so I know it pretty well.

Mostly everything you are point problems out as in fact already exist in the engine, not all but most, you admitted yourself above that you just didn't use the software long enough and didnt explore the engine fully and it's capabilities.. so your ORIGINAL POST when your ripping into it saying this and that don't exist when it actually does. Instead of reading what other people say on dated posts from back in early 2023, and repeating what people have already stated you should form your own opinion by using the product properly without bias.

And just for the record... "defend your precious software" how childish of a remark, how old are you.? 10? ..I have my own major problems with this software, it's NOT as precious to me as you think. I've come across many problems with it that hasn't still been fixed since 2023 but you don't see me ripping into the software OR bad mouthing the Developers just because it hasn't or it don't have certain features i wanted.

Also, I don't need no validation, my views of you and your opinion of this software is correct, you just simply didn't use it long enough to learn everything it offers and you got all butt-hurt 'cos you had to refund it and it wasn't what you expected it to be even though it does EVERYTHING it says it does on the box.

It seems to me that you're the one that has the fascination with the product and refuse to let it go. I WILL defend Bakin and the Developers because its not even 5% as bad as you are making it out to be. The way you keep going on about it, answering people's questions in the forum when you haven't even used the product for 2 hours, the way you systematically went through every post in the forum and trashed it or trolled the developers by calling them out for something.

BUT.. guess what, the Developers don't care what you have to say or think 'cos they can't even be bothered to reply to your biased and jaded posts, your thoughts have NO merit or meaning to them, or constructive feedback to work with so they stay quiet and ignore you. You should take this as a lesson, IF you want to trash a product, be sure that YOU use the product in it's entirety first (for MANY hours) because IF you think what I have stated above is bad, you'll run into a much worse person than me who actually LOVES this product.. final word !!

This has to be a troll. Ive done almost all of these things, you just have to learn the engine.
