Not true really, Nintendo pwns the IP that means you cant rip stuff from the game and use it, including models, music, monsters, characters etc.. BUT you CAN however copy a system in the game such as the way the crafting is done, fishing is done, the pick up/sown thing he's talking about is classed as a code, THAT you can by law make your own version that's the exact same thing and use it in your game.
IF what you stated was the case you'd have many game companies suing each other ''cos they copied this and that from each other. Should BLIZZARD sue every other mmo on the market 'cos they use a '!' above npc's heads ? or everything else Blizzard coded first and used in mmos that's become the standard for every mmo since? Should the devs who invented fishing in a game/mmo sue every other modern RPG game or mmo now? NO! It wouldl be laughed right out of court.
NOW! If 'Goonyman' said he was making a fangame of Animal Crossing or a remake of one of the earlier games in Bakin then THAT is a very different matter, that IS against the law as it's IP theft.
yes i was talking about the things you do in animal crossing not the game such as fishing, moving, pickup placing furniture, grid alignment system money and or home renting and upgrading system etc. I prefer to make my own games just also would like this type of flexibility in bakin knowing this option exist or that would be implemented.
