Can you make terrain blocks float somehow?

To like make a bridge? and open world houses? or caves?

Also, does the floating island dlc let you place things below the floating islands? and do all the floating islands really need to connect?

Yes you can, but you have to convert a terrain block to a 3D model first.

To do that, right click on a terrain block and select the option "Export Model"
Then Import it into Bakin and now you have a 3D model of your terrain block.

And with 3D model you can chose if they are affected by gravity or not (when you click on the 3D model, there is a mini list that appear, it is the icon number 4)

I do not own the floating island dlc yet so I can not answer this question.
