It seems to have been a much needed refresh of visuals and tweaks like not having to burn each food type to learn how to cook it.

To see release notes for the current version:

Start up the game. In the left menu, just under the logo and title of the game you can see the version. Click on the version number and you will see the detailed updates for the running version. There is usually another "show 0.6 release notes" to click on in that screen to show the main version release notes if you are running a point version.
