Progress Update - 13th June - Sleds and AI
Hi and thank you to everyone who has been reporting bugs, playtesting, leaving comments, reviews, providing feedback, the list goes on! It all helps a lot, you’re awesome and I appreciate it.

Please do remind me if you have reported something serious and you think I might have overlooked it. I do see nearly everything come through on the Discord, but sometimes I miss the odd message, and I don’t check every in-game bug report.

So anyway, lately I’ve been spending roughly half my time on older tasks from my todo list, and half my time on new issues as they come up. This ratio is getting better all the time, so I’m finally getting to work on things that have been on the list for years like having campfires repel mammoths, and some important work on mod support for servers.

It’s all looking good in general, I’m especially pleased with how the AI is coming together now. It’s perhaps hard to see if you’ve been playing the unstable builds, as I have been seemingly introducing AI bugs at the same rate I’ve been fixing them! But it’s all part of the process. A lot changed under the hood, and what we have now is much faster and more efficient overall, with less bugs than before, there are just a couple more loose ends to tidy up.

Sleds are now working really well now for moving things around, so that’s another big one ticked off the list. There are of course improvements I still want to make, and I need to do the animation/rope still, but sleds are very close to being ready for release at this point.

So there is one big item left on the list for me, and that’s to improve AI tribes, adding variety, just test and work on the entire system some more to make sure it all works as intended and is well balanced. Other than that, I have about 30-40 mostly much smaller things that I am aiming to complete within the next few weeks, so hopefully we don’t get too many distracting new bugs/issues, and I can get most of them done!
