grilling beets worth it?
My beet stockpiles never last long, since my saps seem to love these things.
Considering how long it takes to grill a single beet, is it worth investing sap time to make?
Do they only last longer or do they get more nutrients out of it?

Grilling beets is worth it because it doubles their food value and slightly increases their trade value. However, it does take extra time, so if you need quick food, use raw beets. For long-term benefits and better trade deals, grilling is a good investment.

After another search I actually found the info to the food's nutrient values.
Not sure why I didn't find it earlier.

Currently I'm thinking about just planting fruit trees throughout the settlement and have the hungry ones pick the stuff themselves.
The tribe's location doesn't seem to have seasons so the trees are growing food all year around.
With this there's no need to stockpile food, circumventing spoilage and the need for storage space.

SPoilage is good for compost, to revitalize the ground.

All plants take nutrients from the ground, sucking it dry ^^ so gather some ♥♥♥♥ and rottenstuff and mulch some
