Contact - can't pick up a "scientific device" so I am stuck

In the mission Anomalous Phenomena, I am supposed to pick up a scientific device (which looks like a grenade). When I do so, the device disappears, but the area keeps flashing as if it was still there. My objective does not update and I still have the option to pick up the device again (even though it visually is not there anymore). Repeating the action does not help and reloading from last save will not fix this issue either.

Does anyone else has this problem?

did u jam and disable the stomper before proceeding to the scientific device?

No, I've reprogrammed it so it killed everyone around the area. Then I've left it alone to do something else, but after I came back, the Stomper was nowhere to be found so I can't disable it anymore.

u might need to restart the full mission for it to work then

Guys, it's been 6 years...
And no, I wasn't running mods. This DLC would be amazing, if it was possible to finish :(
I restarted the whole mission and then ran into another blocker - a turret I was supposed to destroy was already destroyed since the very begining, so I couldn't progress. I gave up on the DLC there.
