The fish fighting mechanics are one of the biggest negatives of this game.

Real fishermen go to the Ebro and catch big catfish on 20lb line and they don't get spooled....the fish don't seem to suffer from lactic acid build up like they do in real life because once that's happened they just roll over and come in.

I'm friends with an ex English international angler....he tried to tell the dev this and the dev told him he didn't know what he was talking about, lmao :D

dont know who actually catfish with 20lb line, catfish equipment is usually around 40lb minimum in my country, where catfish are nowhere near the size of ones at Ebro, with shock leader often exceeding 40lb heavily to protect tackle from tough environment as catfish tend to snag a lot during fight
20lb setup is more suited for regular carp fishing and even there trophy carp fishing is usually around 30lb
with all that I do definitely do believe you can catch catfish in game on 20lb setup, did it myself several times, just takes time and need to walk or use boat to follow fish if it is bigger

The 24kg stick rods like SablP can't handle 6kg fish on this map rod goes completely red like it would with trophy carp

Sorry mate, I was just making a point that the line and tackle is far lighter than the fish that are being caught.
Woolf said very early on that he doesn't think walking after a hooked fish or using the boat is realistic....

My original point stands though, fish are far too powerful....

It all makes sense, and it was just as I said it was.

With the end of the access to the map for everyone, they took away the huge XP that came with certain fish species.
Now it's a normal map, with normal XP.

It was an introductory offer to promote the map and attract new players.

It is a good game indeed, but I wish we had a few maps that offered some more unique fishing.

I am thinking here like amazon basin fish, or African basin fish. Although I have to admit this map was fun, but more because of all the XP and maybe not soo much because of the fish.

I've still got a couple of days so I'll try it out later, when I've got a bit more time :)

I think that is the best way to play this game. Play it when you have time, and enjoy the fishing.
