Default timings don't include custom speed limits
Hi, I'm having an issue with my real-life save, where I'm setting the track speed limits for the existing lines, but the train schedules always end up being late by a couple of minutes due to it not including my custom speed limits. As a result, trains end up trying to catch up in every schedule run. Any way to force the game to include the track speed limit in its run calculation? Thank you

From a couple examples I saw and from your description this looks like may be it's a timetable issue and not speed limits. Trains get held at red light for the single track section and as a result become late. It tries to catch up but will be limited to speed limit of the track (and its own maximum speed) when doing so. If there is not enough time to catch up it may miss its window in the next single track section and this could further increase delay. It's typical when timetable is tight that delays increase over time. You want to coordinate the schedule in a way that each train gets to the single track section in its own slot without conflict with other trains. In other words, make it work where you would not in principle need signals as each train runs the single track section in a different time.

Actually it does calculate with your limits. Something is odd here. Can you share the save?

Sure, https://share.nimbyrails.com/u9ipSK9bzxIRu-f1KLYItQ

It especially happens on the red line (R3), on the top part of its route, where the speed limits are very low and it is single-track.

I should clarify that trains run without delay if it's the only train on the route, but when it gets delayed while waiting for another train, the delay gets bigger and bigger over time, as if the speed limit doesn't apply when the train has to make back lost time.

I ended up using custom leg timing for each stop to match the real-life timetable as much as possible and removed track speed limits since I don't rely on them anymore, and trains now make up for time lost much better. Thanks

Exactly what I do, set up custom leg timing for each stop and apply real life timetables if available as this guarantees single track sections won't have issues.
I get that there may not be enough time for the already-late train to catch up to its next shift, but it honestly is unrealistic for trains to do their maximum speed in places they should not, especially in an environment of a subway. I'll provide an example. In my game, I recreated the entire NYC subway. There is a 4-track section that is a straight line from one express stop to the next. The A express train. Between the Nostrand Av, and Utica Av stations. For these two stops, the A trains are supposed to do max a 73 kmh. There is no reason why a subway train is going 115 km/h or 71.4 mph to reach the next express stop 1.5 km away, despite how late it is. It is unrealistic, and I am hoping that it can be fixed that late trains follow the posted speed limit designated in the line's timing.

You can set the track speed limit to be 73 kmh and your train won't go faster than that - this functionality is already in the game, so nothing really to fix.
