Stance on save-scumming?
So, I got my brother on to ROTWS - he's also been a fan of Cold War 2.

The thing is, we both differ on how to play these two games.

What I do is simple - if I make a bad decision, I just keep playing. I figure that since I made these mistakes, I have to live with it.

My brother's different. He just goes back to the last save-point - which undoes his mistake. This practice is known as "save-scumming".

Concrete example of this: Let's say that Ungern's army is destroyed in battle because I made the stupid decision to immediately attack the North Frontier Army.

I would just keep playing with my now-depleted resources. My brother will go back to the save-point and take a different course of action.

Which is the better approach? Or does it actually matter?

Personally, I find save-scumming dishonorable - I stick with my decisions, no matter how horrible they are. XD

Then again, it's a video game - people have their strategies to play them.

Well, I have no stance: I personnaly don't save/reload and stick with my poor action results, but anybody should be able to play the game as he likes.
This is why actions results are not saved, so a player save scumming can enjoy a different result.
