Dead game unfortunately

theres been quite a bit of rumors, from the devs beign drafted to fight in the Ukreine war or beign chinese and the goverment having them incarcerated

hard to say what happened, Ill check their discord, probably someone else could continue this project or even become an open source project perhaps

I found a game that has super similiar mechanics that is being worked on. Seductress its in development looks and plays just like this game. Almost like the creator changes his name and begins new projects. Valkyries never got off the ground so this could be the same dev.

Could be that but wouldn't it be weird to abandon a project and literally come back as another person ? It's not like the devs or the game were problematic and so they decided to change identity.

Very dead. I believe the devs themselves posted on this saying they had to abandon the game with hopes of returning in the future. Which I doubt.

I hope the Dev lets us know if they are working on another project I really like this game and would buy from them again.

I think the Ukraine war is the issue. If so, no new work until the war is over I'd imagine.

This game was created in China, not Ukraine. Open the source code of the game and see for yourself. SWPT has nothing to do with Ukraine, except for two girls (lead designers) who are from Ukraine, but have been working in China for several years. Also, SWPT has been abandoned for good since the lead designers started working on another game.

They have already done it multiple times. Realease pre-apha promising game. Then screw the code. Then abandon it. Then switch to the next project. They made it at least 3 times already, and I haven't dug too deep, so it may be more.

"Since I noticed that there are various theories and legends about the origin of the game, I decided to clarify this matter.

1.
The game was directed by two girls: Valerie Lee and Eva Melamori and was created by a company registered and operating in China.

2.
Valerie Lee was born in Ukraine but has been living and working in China since 2018. Her real name is Tina Khristi. In 2018, Valerie aka Tina went to China where she co-founded L2 Game Studios (the company where the SWPT game was created). L2 Game Studios (later transformed into L2 Games) is registered and operating in China. The entire additional team that created SWPT comes from China. Valerie aka Tina is also the co-founder of KK Softworks (China), successor of KK Game Studios (Ukraine). This company released only one game - Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare (which was very poorly rated by players) and started working on another (still unfinished) game - Her War.

3.
Eva Melamori also comes from Ukraine and was an Environment Designer at KK Game Studio. She collaborated with Valerie aka Tina on SWPT.

4.
To summarize: SWPT was created in China and was mostly made by Chinese programmers, however the project was managed by Valerie and Eva from Ukraine. Even though the names of the female characters are Ukrainian / Russian and the design of the buildings and ruins is European, the entire game code was prepared by the Chinese team (you can enter the game code and see for yourself).
