inside the steam folder ''steamapps\common\KillingFloor\System''

There is a file called killingfloor(It is the one with an icon with a gear and a page), it is edited with notepad.

It seems to be a problem with the resolution, perhaps giving some more details, someone can think of something, like your screen resolution and see if the game works in window mode.


Inside the file ''killingfloor'' editing it with notepad there is a line that you can search for ''[WinDrv.WindowsClient]'' under this line you will find the screen resolution

Mine:
FullscreenViewportX=1280
FullscreenViewportY=768

Yeh, for me it loads up in window mode...I just select the tab and hit "Alt+Enter" a couple times and that does the trick.

Hey there! I am having a similar problem. The game launches just fine in windowed mode but as soon as I go into full screen (by either settings or hitting Alt+Enter) the screen locks up. If the game launches in full screen I just have a black background with a white crosshair. I am unable to alt-tab or anything and need to blindly bring up the task manager and close KF with keyboard strokes only to regain control of my PC.

Anybody have any idea what is going on?

I don't know if this will fix your problem but I was able to get KF to work in full screen by setting it to run as administrator. You may also have to run Steam as an administrator in order to get the profile information and perk data to load

For me running steam as admin seems to be enough, but thanks for the idea

If any of you are dealing with this going forward, try turning ON
"Disable Fullscreen Optimizations" within the Compatibility
options of KillingFloor.exe located in the System folder.

I know of at least 2 people which fixed their crashes by ticking that
option ON. Might just work for you too.
