Can you field more than 6 members at some point?
I'm currently playing through the first week, and I've actually hired 7 members, but I'm stuck with a team of 6.
Can you actually field more than 6 members at some point?

Thanks

I recommend to hire at least 5 characters for the first week (leave money for the golem if mechanic pays you a visit randomly), then expand to 10-12. Some will be on missions, protecting locals, training or just recovering stamina/health, so the money isn't wasted.
But missions cost time, no?
So basically, sending anyone on mission prevents the team for entering the Arena, or am I mistaken?

No, the team can enter arena. Just not the warriors you sent on the mission. It's great because they don't consume food or reduce team's morale if their character is bad.

At least with the point I'm at, I only have 2 time units. It would cost me 1 to send someone on a job, and it's 2 to use arena. So I can't do both.

Unless you're talking about taking one day to send people on a 2 day event, then using the second day for arena.

Yes, some things do cost multiple days for your gladiators. The spoiler-free ones are the Infirmary (though with very light wounds, they can return that night) and the trainer, but other one-time events will pop up as things progress!
