The dev's do watch this forum, but they don't always have an opportunity to respond to community comments and suggestions.
If you want to make sure the devs see your feedback, use the in-game feedback form, by hitting F8 while you are playing. A form will pop up allowing you to enter and send your message.
They may or may not answer you specifically, but you will know that they have seen your comment, unlike posts here - sometimes they are seen, sometimes not. This is, after all, primarily a discussion forum, not a feedback forum...
Kinda handy in the wrecks though...
And even in this case, T2 flashlight is more than enough, T3 is already too bright.
I don’t consider flares as a light source; they are needed exclusively for marking already explored corridors at intersections.
Unfortunately, I didn't find any use for stationary light sources. The game has nice night lighting, and the light sources look good, but the almost complete absence of night ruins it all.
Not that even the highest level of lighting helps at night - my only recourse is to hang out until the daylight comes back and I can see where I'm going again. The T3 light gives me maybe a foot or two vision in front of my feet, and not much more, when it's night out.
Also, the higher the Ti, the more often night seems to come, and the darker it gets. I need the T3 light in the wrecks, too, the T2 just doesn't cut it for me... and as you may have guessed, thanks to this I also use a fair bit of stationary lighting here and there...
However, I do agree that there's a place for both more directed and ambient light options.
