Either try the 'Stuck!' option in the options menu as suggested over in your other thread, or you can save edit yourself a full oxygen bar which will give you enough time to remake the extra base you removed, gather any dropped items, and allow you to return to your main base.

To save edit your oxygen meter you'll need to do the following steps (N.B. this guide presumes you're on a Windows PC - if you're using a Mac or Linux the folder location in step 2 will be different) :

1: Make a note of the maximum value your oxygen bar can hold. Then save the game and exit back to the main menu.

2: Browse to the following folder -

C:/Users/[username]/AppData/LocalLow/MijuGames/Planet Crafter

N.B. The AppData folder is a hidden system folder, you may need to enable the option to 'Show Hidden Files and Folders' to find it.

3: Once in the Planet Crafter folder, change the view to 'Details' and sort the list of files by 'Last Modified', this should put your save file near the top of the list. It'll be a .json file

4: Open the save file in a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++

5: Look at the 9th line in the save file, it begins with the tag {"id": followed by a long 17 digit number, further along that line will be a tag labelled "playerGaugeOxygen": this too will be followed by a number, change that number to the value you noted in step 1, make sure to keep the .0 at the end of the number

6: Save the changes and close the text editor.

7: Now return to the game and open up your save, you should have a full oxygen bar. Quickly remake your extra base and enter it. Now you can pick up any items you may have dropped while you were in the death-loop, and then you can head back to your main base.

Leave the extra base where it is, it might be useful later. if your main base is too far to get back to, grab the resources to make another extra base on your journey back. You can always clean up any extra bases you no longer need once oxygen becomes a non-issue later in the game.

Have you got enough materials to construct a single room with a door? Shouldn't be difficult to find the materials. The easiest way to explore until you have bigger oxygen tanks is to create a series of safe rooms and leave them there.

I CANT leave the safe rooms there as i use them to back home. i had to log out to fix my stuck going back to deconstructed home.... so i fixed now. i do use the build safe house if near a crash site and need lot time to explore it :) love game

Instead of deconstructing the cubicle to take with you, use it for a mini-home for long enough to gather the materials to make another cubicle to take with you, then leave the one you've already built behind when you leave...

That way you will leave a little trail of cubicles behind you, all the way back to your main home - which will mean that you will be able to return home with a full backpack, not having to carry those six extra items with you on your return trip... :-D

(some people also take the time to stock them with a little food and water, too... they can be rather handy in the early game! ;-)
FWIW - you can turn down (or off) oxygen consumption when creating a new game. It doesn't fix the current situation, but it's an option going forward.

The Command Console mod on NexusMods has the /auto-refill command which will keep the bars full. You can add it to the mod's OnLoadCommand config entry so it executes every time a world is loaded.
OP, there are some very good suggestions in this thread. Creating a trail of bases is so useful and if you have spare iron and silicon, I'd recommend constructing a T2 craft station in each base then you can also craft and stash some emergency oxygen and water.

I found the default rate of oxygen/hydration depletion too extreme so I restarted on a new save file but I messed it up by stupidly setting vitals depletion to zero, which meant never needing any water or oxygen, so all my grown food was subsequently being wasted. I had reached water level at this point but I scrapped that game and started over for the third time, and set vitals depletion to 0.4. I didn't change any other values though and feel this is the sweet spot. It may seem a bit drastic to start over from scratch though, so just do whatever feels right for you.
