Other games with progression as satisfying as PC?
I absolutely love the sense of progression that Planet Crafter has. The only other game that I found that come even close is Subnautica. Anyone have any other games that you feel has fantastic progression?

Subnautica is close, but I never found anything with the same "feeling" as Planet Crafter.
It is my no 1 stress relief game :steamhappy:

There is nothing else out there anywhere near; wish there was! Better one than none, though. PC is the best, and only getting better. :steamhappy:
Well, maybe Satisfactory, but not 100%.
To some extent, Space Engineers and Empyrion too.

if you want a game like this one then go have a look at starrupture its a more up to date version of this game
Bellwright does a good job of it once you get used to it...
And yes, of course, you can check Eden Crafters ))
I'll say right away - I don't know what the authors are up to with copyright issues.

Eden crafters is not bad. They have multiple planets to cleanse and terraform but you can't travel between them and folks with a need for neatness may have a problem with the conveyor belts which is their main way of moving materials.

Astrometica is my current pick. Since this past weeks patch I've been having a blast.

Just finished my first play through of Subnautica last week, Planet Crafter a few weeks ago, and Satisfactory a few months ago. Astrometica is either a bit better or equal to the others, including PC.

Definitely check it out if you haven't already 🤘🏾
Astrometica is a Subnautica rip off just in space not to mention they bad
attitude the Dev's have for constructive criticism. I can see it being abandon ware
soon so will not buy it.

In my opinion PC is a high RPM progression that goes from start to finish.
I can think of plenty of games that have spurts of high RPM progression but not any thing sustain that speed throughout the race track.
What like about PC progression even more than its high RPM is that it provides multiple avenues for success, not just one linear track.

What do I mean by the exactly? One could put up the basic machines and focus on exploring so even though that progress would be slower given that you are exploring one has the time. Or one could focus on getting as much machines up as possible to get to the next tier, or focus on one area of progress first or equalize the progress. In short there is not a lot of 'wrong' ways to do it

as a side note, its tricky to create a game in which there is multiple paths to success without the gaming experience feeling like 'it does not matter what I do' and the inverse is true as well. Meaning if the decisions I make affect my success then once the gamers find out the most efficient way to success then everyone will do that and call the game predictable and stale.
Its a tricky balance between the two.

StarRupture isnt a terraforming game, it is more like Satisfactory, then PC. And SR has combat in it where PC does not. SR wont be out till sometime later this year, though they running a solo playtest right now till the 4th.

As for a game similar, I'd Try Eden Crafter, it is also a terraforming game, but has some Satisfactory elements in that you use conveyors to move from one machine to another. And the terraforming isnt completely global, everything isnt going to turn green planet wide, only around the seeding machines. It has 3 planets to work with for now, each with it's own obstacle to overcome, but you can not travel between the planets.

I had to stop playing that. Too much mess!
I'm currently trying Astroneer. A bit of a pain with the tutorial (missing out vital instructions) but starting to vibe now and it's nice and relaxed and colourful.

i thought i'd like that one but i just couldn't get into it. one of the two or three games i've refunded over the years.

satisfactory is great but it's different progress. the world doesn't change, your giant monstrosities of factories do.
