Because of the differences between the games, it wouldn't even make sense to allow that.

You can't, the game have differences on not only the engine version but also on the removal and addition of things. It's a different game.

Then don't. Play the original.

And by "a lot of people feeling same" do you mean the five to ten people who complain about it here, or the tens of thousands of people who just got over it and bought the new one?
