What do you mean by games like this? What exactly is it about this game that you're looking for more of? Hard to recommend when I don't know what about it appealed to you so much. If you liked the story, YS VIII Lacrimosa of Dana is amazing. It's not turn-based but it has flawless story telling, creative twists and turns, while also having some of the most interesting and fleshed out characters I've ever seen in a JRPG that you can't help but fall in love with.

There's also the Nno Kuni games which are really good and the Tales series that is about to celebrate it's 30th anniversary in December. A lot of those games are well worth experiencing. The Star Ocean series has some pretty solid entries like the Xbox 360 game Star Ocean: The Last Hope and the more recent drop, Star Ocean: The Divine Force. Obviously Final Fantasy is a thing too.

In regards to other turn based games there's the trails series that I'm planning to try out after DQ11. Clair Obscur Expedition 33 just came out this year and implemented a revolutionary real time dodging and parrying mechanic into into the turn based genre. Definitely worth a look. I beat it earlier this year and it's basically a souls-like turn-based game with a dark story to match. It actually starts out with a character attempting suicide if that's any indication.

Xenoblade Chronicles 1, 2, and 3 are must plays if you enjoyed Dragon Quest as well. The Xenoblade Chronicles series is widely considered to be the best set of JRPG's to ever be developed by everyone who's played them. I played all of them earlier this year and 2 and 3 especially were an experience unlike anything I've ever had in a JRPG next to YS VIII. Seriously, if you haven't, play the Xenoblade Chronicles games. You owe it to yourself to play them at least once. They're only available on the Nintendo Switch right now though which is why they're under-rated. But it's worth buying one just to play the Xenoblade Chronicles series. Xenoblade Chronicles 4 is in development as we speak too.

Re: Fantazio and Yakuza: Like a Dragon are turn based like this. Also the Trail series but I recommend you wait for the remakes of the Sky trilogy.

Excuse my french but Expedition 33 revolutionary? They clearly took inspiration from Mario & Luigi. In Mario & Luigi you dodge, time attacks for extra damage, jump and counter. Same there, but it's in ultra HD. I won't discredit its system since I find it fantastic. I just think people give a game with a combat mechanic inspired from something else, now with flashier animations a lot more credit than it deserves. Again, not to discredit its system, but it's just hardcore Mario & Luigi with better animations.

More than that. I wouldn't call it revolutionary either, if you call pulling inspiration from FFVIII, FFX, Legend of Dragoon, Shadow Hears, etc, revolutionary.

There are more Dragon Quest games, did you play them all? (Back in my day we called it Dragon Warrior) Also, older Final Fantasy titles exist.

cool thanks :)
There's a lot of turn based JRPGs out there, hopefully modern turn based RPGs will keep coming up but they will likely will not be AAA but simply AA or simply A games.
