So should I focus more on upgrading a ball ?
The builds I want to look into are the electric ball and multiplayer one not sure what those need
What should my main focus be if I want to focus on high damage do I make sure I hit critical pegs ?
Yes, especially with the Daggorb. There are a huge variety of orbs that are fun to use. If you see a fun looking orb, definitely give it a try in custom mode,
Also, it usually depends what boss you see at the bottom of the map. Upgrading your Daggorb for example, is good for any of the first map bosses, but not so much against certain enemies in the second act.
In my opinion, it'd be good to have one high damage orb, one orbs that heals you or steals health, and one that refreshes the board. Though, the orbs you get are randomized, so don't expect a perfect run every time.
So i only buy orbs that fit my build ?
Pebballs are ok, but unless you get the Suffer the Sling relic, and maybe the Orbelisk orb, it's usually better to sell or remove those to give you better access to more better orbs.
I'm not a great expert on this game, but I hope this helps!
Upgrade your strongest orbs as a first priority, you can use discards and play them more often.
Don't just pay attention to the effects when drafting orbs, some orbs that seem "okay" have some great numbers in base damage and crit scaling, so there's a ton of viable orbs because of the damage alone. And others like lightning have an incredible effect, but need stat boosts or other bonuses to actually accomplish much because their damage number is so low.
Removing orbs is great, because it lets you avoid sequences where there's multiple orbs you don't want to use in a row, but unlike deckbuilders your discard means it's not the be-all-end-all.
Use your discard! Yes, you'll eventually lose a turn to needing to reload more, but by the time you've discarded 3 bad orbs you don't want to waste time playing, you're basically paying 1 reload turn to avoid 3 mediocre turns.
Don't always use your discard! If your powerful orb is coming up and the board needs a refresh, spend your pebble to get the board in a better state to clear the way for the powered up orb to shine. Another frequent situation to skip a discard is where you need to finish off a low hp enemy that will block your powerful orb from getting to hit a full hp enemy.
The best relics are ones that add crits and refresh pegs or methods to do so. The easiest way to die is when the refresh peg is in a bad place on a nearly empty board and it takes multiple turns of low damage to trigger it and start playing again
The other best genres of relic are survivability in terms of healing/evasion/armor and AoE.
Any orbs that hit all enemies are usually worth considering.
