Anyone have some tips for "tiered" construction?
I am building my base into a hillside, which means it's tiered, such that various parts of the building are not all at the same exact height, even when they are the same floor.

I've seen threads here where people talk about the issues with multi-level construction and staircases, and that issue is really making this building a pain in the arse to build even with it all just being single story so far, because I need those stairs to get the height for the different heights of the floors.

Anyone do something like this who can give me any tips for how to use the stairs for this and still have a ceiling?

At least you thought of it at all. I'm grateful for that. I had not even considered that the degree of height difference would make a difference.

I'm posting screenshots of what I attempted to build, in case anyone else has messed around with this and found a workaround. So that it's obvious specifically what my issue is. No roofs going on the building yet, just ceilings, as I'm likely to go to a 2nd story for at least part of the structure.

Playing trade scenario with my mods that make it take significantly longer than normal to complete, so I'll be here a while.

Oh, yes, that would be workable. you basically did a "spiral staircase" (essentially) such that no single flight of steps is more than a single height level difference. Quite brilliant!

Thank you. It didn't even require a long stretch of hallway, just 3 blocks. I found that quite neat, i expected a longer one.

Had to edit, i can't count.

I'm working on converting what i have right now to that kind of setup, so far so good. I'm glad I actually sized it so that I have a length of hallway available at every spot where i have a stairs.

I hope it doesn't hinder you to much when you put the second floor on top.
Or by then you're working with your teleporters.

I think by then I'll have teleporters. The 2nd floor would be for once I get to the point I need more space for more survivors. Which will take several years. Even with slower research I think I'll have teleporters by year 3 or 4.
