why cant i cut with the saw straight.
like trying to thread the needle and my pencil marks arent terrible. i do have a issue with the pencil locking on to do a line when im trying to make a measured pencil mark. it always snaps to the triange wrong. and the saw, i mean making two pieces the same length is near impossible, and its very frustrating

Hey there. The pencil will automatically lock to a straight edge on a measuring tool. I suggest touching the pencil to the wood a small distance (like half an inch) away from the edge to just make a mark if you only need a dot. Otherwise, you can try to use the tape measure because the pencil doesn't snap to it.

If you are trying to make multiple pieces the same length, I suggest using the miter box https://steamhost.cn/news/app/1344530/view/3024702091134843436

You can also clamp board stops to the table to make fast, same length cuts.

Hope this helps give you some ideas on how to make more refined cuts!
