I just pushed a small patch to update it from a 25% error range to a 50% error range on weight. This means you get docked weight score points on a linear scale if you are up to 50% off on weight. Beyond that, you get zero points for weight.
If you have your build saved, you can go back in and re-score it to see if there is much of a difference.
Edit: Noticed that I could "hammer in" Resume on that project, that was nice. So I just hit the bell again and it now says 38/50 instead.
But what I don't get is how the weight can be wrong at all if size and shape are perfect.
I mean, if I make it a bigger size it would weight more and might make the weight score better, but then the size score would lower..I guess?
The solution is a perfect solution, as in, I calculate the volume of the dimensions on the chalkboard to get the mass objective. The reality is that each cut nips away about an 1/8 of an inch of wood (from the lost wood turned to sawdust). This "consumption" of the saw width of wood wasn't present in the first iteration of vrkshop, which is when I did all the challenge level design. So maybe I need to dig deeper on this one to try to see what's going on.
This error will also manifest itself in some of the challenges that I made that use an entire plank of wood. So the end build will be short by however many cuts had to be made.
If you want to help me try to debug it, send me an email at vrkshop.support@vrkshop.com or message me on discord with your save file and I'll take a look. The file is at [YOUR_WINDOWS_USER_PATH]/AppData/LocalLow/ScopatGames/vrkshop/1.0.0/Pyramids.vrk
I'll see what I can do about sending you my savefile. I'm sending it by email in that case.
Edit: Save file sent by email.
Thanks for the help!
Awesome, thanks!
It's fine that I'll have to rebuild it. I'll probably redo them all after I've gotten more used to the game mechanics anyway.
