Metric measuring tools wrong

Has anyone else in metric realized that rulers and measuring tapes are wrong in the game
Instead of divided by every millimetre they are divided by every 2 millimetres instead

Realized that when tried to do some math on my measurements and constantly got it wrong before I realized it it's not made correctly

Is there some reason for that or is that just development error or something ?

I did that deliberately. It's modeled from this framing square: https://www.engineersupply.com/Johnson-Level-CS18-400mmx600mm-Metric-Aluminum-Framing-Square.aspx

Another more practical reason is that it's difficult to see the markings at the 1mm increment in VR - not to mention it's tough to physically line up anything in VR to that precision. 2mm is also pretty close to the Imperial 1/16th of an inch.
