Try doing this:
1. Start your Oculus desktop app
2. Plug in your Quest 2 via the link cable and go through the enable prompts to allow it to connect to the desktop
3. Start Steam VR and verify that it is showing a blue icon for your headset and two controllers
4. Put on your headset and you should be in Steam VR home
5. Start vrkshop from Steam VR home
Alternatively, after starting Steam VR, you can launch vrkshop from Steam and it should work too. The Bug #2 is happening because SteamVR isn't properly running when you are launching the game, and it is just launching it as a desktop app.
Hope this helps.
