Toolbelt Tracking and Locomotion
I find I usually take off the tool belt because of how it is tracked. It moves with me when I use joystick locomotion but if I move at all in space irl the tool belt stays where I last stopped when moving with the joystick.

It kinda hurts the flow of your work when you go to grab something from your belt but you first have to 'step back into it'. Not sure if there are limitations to tracking based on head position but it'd be nice to always have the belt around your waist where you expect it to be.

The tool belt actually does follow you if you move within your play space without the joystick. But it has a certain distance of your body moving away from it before it initiates the movement of the tool belt to your location/orientation. During testing, it was tweaked a bit and i found that the distance was good. I think it's around ~1m of play space movement before it follows, and if you turn around in that play space movement then the belt will also start to slowly rotate to your new orientation as it moves to your new position within your play space.
I hope that makes sense.
Sometimes, if it hasn't moved into the perfect position for you, just double tap the interact button on the buckle to reset its position to directly under you again.
Cheers.

I guess my play area isn't large enough for the follow feature to kick in.

Thanks

Yeah, that was a tough design point. If it tracks your head position too closely, it felt like you were competing with the toolbelt if you were leaning over to look at something as the toolbelt would slide in front of your vision (looking down). A lot of time is spent (at least for me) looking down, so I made the call to give a wide threshold to the follow distance trigger. I'm still down for tweaking it though if it doesn't feel right. Or I could also add an option for follow distance. Thanks for the feedback

Another potential solution I played around with was having the toolbelt follow the user more tightly when the head gaze direction was close to forward, then freezing the toolbelt location when the player starts to look down, but I couldn't get a solution that made me happy. I'm open to ideas or game references that hit the mark.
