I bought Galciv 3

And it kinda made my eyes bleed, in a whole bunch of ways, including the graphics and the UI and just how systems and planets and everything seemed to be laid out.
I'm not a complete brainlet either, I'm a super busy dude who's still managed to put 1000s of hours into games like TW:WH2 and Civ4 and participated in modding communities for those, like I contributed a road-decay system to one of the Civ4 mods back in the day that made it so that the player and the AI couldnt really just spam their most powerful roads on every tile, and instead had to invest in a real arterial system, and the AI even did it, correctly.

So I'm here today to ask whether Galciv 4, early access as it is, might be a good fit for me. I enjoyed Stellaris and maintained a genealogy mod for it for a brief period, even though Stellaris is more of a space opera simulator than a strategy game.

Is Galciv 4 a little more.... sexy, aesthetic; than Galciv 3?

yes, i feel GC4 is more aesthetically pleasing than GC3, but that still remains subjective and will vary from person to person. To me GC4 looks like Civ6 in space, for whatever that may mean to anyone else.

The game is good but the font size for the text is painfully small - I often have to squint to read the text

From the screenshots I have seen it looks cartoonish which to me is a little offputting.

I don't own GalCIV4 yet, but i can tell you that Early Access for GalCIV3 was the very best Early Access game i've ever had. Mind you, i do not often use a description like "the Best', "most beautifull, most dificult" or other such favouritism that's almost always a matter of perception from the eye of the beholder. But for GalCIV3 it was without a doubt far, very far better then anything else. I even have one game that i bought before GalCIV3 which now still is in "early access".

Sadly, my current computer is weak even for GalCIV3. From what i see and read here and at the StarDock site, i know GalCIV4 in early access gives us just as much fun as 3 did.

I do not have a super computer on my own, so from personal experience GalCiv4 is much more optimized. Therefore it may be worth a shot. Worst case scenario, do not go over the 2 hours limit on steam, and just refund :)
