So far, I have tried reinstallation, verification of game files and both proton experimental and proton GE.

Thanks for your report,
this has possibly been caused by changes to Unity that has been made when we updated the engine.

We will investigate if that's the case and what can be done about it.

Can also confirm same issue on AMD GPU using Mesa 22.2.3 (RADV driver).
Tried using current Proton Experimental with DXVK 2.0 and no change.

Can the game be forced to use DX12? Maybe vkd3d could do better.

this is still an issue on the steam deck. looks crazy.

I'm currently experiencing this bug on one of my windows 10 notebooks. Interestingly, I DID NOT experience this graphical error in the demo version.

Hardware is an Intel i5-6200u with Intel HD Graphics 520 integrated.

You can work around this bug by enforcing DirectX 12 using the launch command -force-d3d12

Tried this and it instead just makes windows glow a blinding white.

Hey, is there a fix for this ? Same issue on steamdeck, it effects all reflective surfaces

Still broken on Steam Deck

Yep, still broken. I Installed it today, hoping to have a blast and instead I spent 30 minutes messing around, searching forums etc for fixes. Forcing dx12 just brings bright white that blinds you completely. It also makes the menu break occasionally, too.
You also can't exit the game without just closing it down, as when you press the pause button, it won't allow you to go far down the menu enough to exit or go to settings.
I can't believe this was reported in 2022 and there still is no update or patch or fix for the deck, when this game has a big fat green tick saying "Steam Deck Verified". This is deceiving and it should be removed, as the game is not fully functional. I've seen other games rated "playable" because the text is a little on the small side. Yet they play flawlessly compared to this.

Encountered this myself. It really does get terribly distracting.

Same. Issue has been known for 2 years. Not reassuring.

So, is this even possible to fix, or would it be too much work to rewrite the way these shaders are calculated so the reflections aren't rendered as flat maps on windows? Would be nice to at least have an update.

Wanted to report this myself, but I guess I am 2 years late. I mean, come on guys, we love the game, but this needs to be fixed...
Still broken for me .. Someone suggested using -force-d3d12
I tried this and all other force_* launch parameters.
With -force-d3d12 and Proton Experimental/Hotfix/UMU I see the intro animations but it crashes before displaying the main menu.
With -force-d3d12 and Proton 7 it launches - but the reflections are still broken.

Given the last update was in january I do not expect a fix from the devs at this point.

Such a shame.

Why is this game still steam deck "verified"?
Why do people keep adding entries in protondb claiming this game works?
Tried looking into this and found this.[github.com]
Apparently the game just uses broken shaders.
