User made avatars are possible in Animaze.
Aside from the avatars that are pre-loaded and ready to be animated in Animaze, or the in-app Personas humanoid system, here is the info on importing custom models:
https://www.animaze.us/manual/import-custom-models
For a custom character source data to work and be imported in Animaze they need to be one of :
1. A 3D GLB file that adheres to the Ready Player Me asset conventions (quite similar rig-wise also to what Union Avatars are outputting on their realistic setting, though there could be small differences ) ( https://www.animaze.us/manual/readyplayerme )
2. A VRM file that adheres to the VRM format definition, v0.0 or v1.0, with Vroid expression OR with Perfect Sync (ArKit) expressions. Vroid Studio outputs that with Vroid expressions, there are third party tools that can graft/add PerfectSync Blendshapes to it.
3. A FBX file exported from a model editing package (3DS Max, Maya, Blender and similar) with all additional files in the correct folder structure mentioned in the Animaze documentation (textures, correctly built animations atomics, and/or - Blendshapes whether that's the Animaze Blendshape set, or the Arkit/Perfect Sync Blendshape set) ( In the end, all that can be bundled/compiled as a .avatar file via the Animaze Editor).
4. A Live2D model built by a Live2D rigger
If your character creation software of choice, or the artist you employ, can correctly output any of these above, it should work in Animaze.
In terms of teaching materials here are more free model sources: https://www.animaze.us/manual/resources
The general documentation entry point is this one: https://www.animaze.us/manual
Here are a few artists you might want to employ to make your custom model : https://www.animaze.us/suggested-artists
