The first step in bug reporting will be gathering the logs so we can get more context about the issue:

The most common motion-capture-related issues (easily fixable) we see these days are:

1. Not calibrating at all, or not calibrating right (like, with your mouth open/while talking instead of a neutral expression).
2. Having poor lighting/ almost darkness in the room (not advisable during face motion capture).
3. The camera is placed weirdly (to the side, too far away, high up, or super low), instead of frontal at eye level,
4. Forgetting to add a bit of audio delay (about 150-200 milliseconds) to your voice in OBS, but only if using audio-based lipsync (not needed /not recommended for iPhone tracking).
5. Using unnecessarily high resolutions on webcam input, webcam output, or on both.
6. Having slightly off-spec custom models, and not importing them via the Editor first, for debugging.

When coming across a problem, like when eyelids are jittering, and thinking that's not easily addressable by pulling a few sliders in the advanced tracking settings or using the overrides, please give https://www.animaze.us/manual a read :).

Forum rules.

1. Please do not necro threads older than 6 months.
Animaze is a living app so in most cases bringing up old threads will bring up outdated information that will confuse readers. In most cases, these threads will be locked and the "necroing" post, will be deleted.
A new topic and, if needed, a link in it to the old thread is better than necroing a 6+-month-old thread with outdated info.

2. Please be civil. [Added on Feb 2024]
We know this is the internet and these are the Steam forums, and a dose of irreverence will always be present, however, be aware that we are just an indie team of three people working around the clock to build and maintain something pretty unique that requires quite a lot of effort: A truly independent avatar platform, where any artist in the world can bring any type of avatar to life, whose core engine tech is independent of big corporate game engines and social networks (and their proven ties to being co-financed via military contracts and autocratic government investments).

As a three-people team, we cannot build any model in the world and bring it to life for you, or build all the specific art modifications that you might want, but we can try and build you a starting sample art set, and independent tools so you can do that yourself, to bring your own vision to life.
On a side note, the reason Fluffo's goggles stay on is he is the mascot, and the artist who created him specifically prefers it to always be that way.

Thank you for supporting indie engine avatar tech.

Cheers, and happy streaming!
