Hello!
I am happy to assist.
If I understand correctly, the problem is not that you cannot disable it, (you can turn it off just fine), but what troubles you is that it is turned back on when you start Animaze. Is that correct?
Indeed the Media Pipe face tracker is now the new webcam default tracker for Animaze.
The Visage face tracker is no longer the default.
Because so far the default webcam tracker was always on when Animaze was starting, then Media Pipe, as the default tracker, is always on when Animaze starts.
However, we've revisited that "default tracker should always be on after start-up" assumption this week, as perhaps there are people who want to start with the default tracker turned off for whatever reason; in the next update you will be able to turn the default tracker off, and it will save and it will stay off, (even if it is the default tracker).
If you don't have patience until the next update, you can test it on the next_version beta branch.
Just a reminder that the old Visage face tracker technology is not licensed in perpetuity for the live service of Animaze nor for Animaze 2024.
Those two will eventually fully transition Media Pipe for webcam tracking.
If you want access to the Visage Face Tracking technology, the last versions of Animaze that have a perpetual Visage Tracker license, are Animaze 2022 DLC and Animaze 2023 DLCs (Plus or Pro), the historical snapshots.
They will still be available for purchase until the last day of November 2024 (for a few more days), but after that moment new copies of the 2022 and 2023 versions will no longer be sold, (as a few legal agreements regarding third-party tech used in 2022 and 2023 come to an end).
If you want to keep them forever and don't have them yet, make sure you get them by the end of November.
Beyond that point only Animaze Live service and Animaze 2024 DLCs will remain available for purchase, and they will focus on Media Pipe tracking.
Cheers, and happy streaming!
That's right.
I had high hopes for the new tracker, but it didn't seem to match the "Danny" I control.
Maybe I need to train my face. (lol)
I have already purchased the "Animaze 2024 Plus" software.
I look forward to future developments.
Thank you.
PS: Is there any way to prevent the hand from moving forward when the hand tracker (including Mediapipe's hand tracking and LeapMotion) moves out of range? If possible, it would be better if the hand slowly moves down from the point where the last track ended...
Hello again!
Happy to offer more info.
You can test the build on the next version, there the default tracker disabled status gets saved.
The hands do not normally go in front when tracking is lost on the new Media Pipe hand tracker, here is a video capture .

Could it be you have some custom settings causing them to do so?
It does happen on the leap motion due to how the interpolation to the neutral pose is handled on that path but there's currently no way to do it differently there.
As a reminder: the 2024 DLC does not include a perpetual license for the previous Visage face tracker; only 2022 and 2023 do.
You donn't need to "train your face" :D , simply adjust the advanced tracking setting mapping ranges for the new tracker.
As for the hand track issue, I tried resetting all the settings to default, but it seems there may still be some mistake in the settings.
I'll look into it more thoroughly.
And as for the new face tracking...
Ah...
I'll try to get used to it gradually and adjust the settings.
Thank you.
