This games really hard and that's fine. I'm still figuring everything out.

my biggest problem with the game is that its one where you will be restarting game files constantly or losing mechs and pilots ALOT. The process of setting up mechs and generators is obnoxiously slow and tedious to have to repeat so often.

Using mouse dragging and dropping mech parts on and off the work bench and from the menu to the slots is a MASSIVE pain in the ass. Especially since the order of placements for the slots doesn't matter at all.

I wish i could just right-click mouse button button to auto equip the part to a compatible slot which would speed the build process significantly. its just un-enjoyable to have to aim my mouse to a slot carefully and I do have trouble with that too not being able to line up the mouse with the slot cause the parts obscuring the slot so I drop it repeatedly.

plz patch an auto equip for mech part slots.

I play mech warrior 4 and don;t have an issue with drag and drop for mech customization there cause I don;t have to reconfigure whole mechs repeatedly so often. If the game's gonna be this hard and easy to lose mechs I think your best off with making the process of mech customization not feel like an absolute chore to do.

QOL for this kind of game would go a long way to make it fun. and I think it can be that. I haven;t gotten passed doing 2 missions successfully so I haven't been able to see all the stuff the game can offer. I'm willing to learn the game but the tedious customization is a big barrier to retaining my playership.

also I do wish there was better tutorialization of the game loop.

I was able to figure out how to build mechs, research, manage pilots, and order parts. but I have no idea how the city management side of things is supposed to be done despite reading the manual at all and cant tell if there are just missing features.

It's also pretty vague to figure out when, how, and why damage or other events that your city are occurring from day to day or mission to mission.

maybe some kind of event log to communicate clear causes of problems or damage in the city would help with that. maybe city complaints log form citizens, etc... right now it just feels like the numbers just change day to day just because and I have no idea how to do anything about it.

You can shift click to install parts directly.

For the Reactor the order of the AUX modules matters. The third component is a multiplier for the first two, so it must be placed at the larger numbered slots first.

What kills you? I haven't lost a single mech in my second campaign (only loaded when I tried something very stupid). Most of the damage I take is from my own Large Missiles.

Do you install armor?

Are you killed by Operarius hordes?
Use one or two mechs with Shard Machinegun and that solves it.

Is it the Colubra? (The miniboss on each level)
Stay out of his rotating circle and shoot it from range. If there is no such place dig around and make a tunnel to it. It will not target you unless you step into his rotating circle.

For digging you need a melee weapon equipped. All Miners (starting mech) should get one. Then in the pause menu drag a path to be mined. Melee also completely blocks the tentacle monster from dragging your mechs.

For the city:

Fix sector 56 as soon as possible (top floor at the bottom). This speeds up your production.

Then the Mech Hangar (bottom floor slightly to the right). Allows your mechs to participate in two missions each day.

Then at some point the Eastern Factory (top floor to the west :-) ). It increases the amount of Armor you produce, but isn't critical early on.

Then look at the percentages and just fix whatever has the lowest right percentage.
Left value is how much of the capacity you have operational, right value is how much of the demand you are covering. Also keep a stockpile of at least 100 components, they are needed for normal operation of the city. Apart from the first day just don't repair if you don't have this surplus. You need Power at 100, Life systems at 100 and wounded humans at 0 and damage should stop rising. They depend on the rest of the systems.

thx for the tips!

A lot of of my deaths have been from spontaneous large explosions killing the entire squad. I had thought there was some kind of suicide bomb monster. other times my mech squad is overwhelmed by the critters and i need to better coordinate the team positioning. I've had a large number of resets not being able to continue after a squad wipe. the difficulty seems real severe if you don;t know what your doing and i really don't yet. I'm just scrathcing my head wondering how I'll avoid blowing up my whole sqaud again lmao.

my first reset was from dropping artilerly on them lmao. the other explosions were a complete mystery.

The starting mechs have an 'auto self-destruct upon taking too much damage' feature that is on by default. It is almost universally recommended to turn this off immediately at the start of the game.
