Reactor heat processor clarification
Some of the processors depend on reactor heat. And while the descriptions are relatively clear, the actual behavior is different.
Energy shield power: seems to increase shield when reactor heat is LOW ?
Move speed power: seems to increase movement speed when heat is HIGH
Kinetic rate of fire: seems to increase when heat is HIGH
laser power: no idea how to check whether laser is stronger with low or with high heat.

The description is always "percent of reactor's heating from its maximum temperature", suggesting that low heat = high percentage away from maximum = high bonus. Otherwise it would just be "percent of reactor's heat", right?
But with kinetic rate of fire it's clearly different, as can be tested in the temperature test.

So I'm a bit confused. How do I know whether the program favors low heat or high heat?

Experimentation is the only way. Someone could write a guide about it and their experimental results.

I did some further testing on the battlefield with two mechs that are identical, except one uses alot of heat sinks. And I can confirm the following:

- Movement speed program favors HIGH heat.
- Shield program favors HIGH heat
- Kinetic rate of fire program favors HIGH heat

No idea how to test laser power, but I think it's safe to assume that it works the same way.

Conclusion: the program descriptions are misleading.
It is "percent of the reactor's heating FROM its maximum temperature"
but it SHOULD be "percent of the reactor's heating OF its maximum temperature"

I'll suggest that as an improvement.

Also, note, I believe you are actually speaking of the reactor temperature rather than the reactor heat?

I tested this with the processor program that allows you to continue shooting when overheated. I tested up to a reactor temperature of 15k degree Ĉelsius. There is no further improvement after hitting 100% reactor heat. So the programs are based on reactor heat %, not temperature.

Forgive me. When I said temperature, I mean the percentage of the operating temperature of the reactor relative to the maximum allowable temperature of the reactor.

I've come to the same conclusion. Actualy, 1st and 3rd points are confirmed quite easily in the mech testing window.
