Now Ive NOT hosted a 4 player game since season 9 update so apologies if comment relates to last update.
note: this were private sessions, with mods but no crossplay, all steam users.
I'm still a bit confused how theyve pulled off all this connectivity on DX11, well many on here will argue they havent but personally Ive not been trying to use crossplay or open public sessions. So Im happy with it.
niggly rules are when you use steam cloud to save game (causes a tiny frame drop during saves).
make sure cloud save is up to date. then host launch game n start fresh session, use the in game invite (when loaded into garage press ESC and then C) which sends a DM to your steam friend (who needs to be waiting on snowrunner menu) friend presses steam overlay to access the message/invite and clicks on the BIG GREEN BUTTON to play the game. invite next player when the first has joined. everyone on steam, private session with no crossplay.
but it does work with crossplay eneabled as well as far as ive tested. we always mods ON too but off works just as well.
dont use mobile phones. dont use wifi. make sure you have good internet (FTTP for me) where your ISP doesnt block things at all (call them up and tell them to unblock everything) . make sure you have a good router upnp enabled (or forward the ports manually).
I got a mate installing it on xbox right now and will test crossplay out properly next week. will report back on that
Not all internet connections were born equal ;o)
On this Saturday we repeated same scheme, and it did not work. LMAO.
We're having a real tough time trying to get everyone to play together and I'm about to give up. Why isn't anyone addressing this?
