SnowRunner

SnowRunner

View Stats:
Extremely slow startup and umplayable
At the moment the game begins to load the main menu it is so slow that it is impossible to do anything. And I mean very very slow as if there is a problem.

Thanks for letting us know :104:
Have you tried verifying your game files? Maybe there really is a problem.

Must be a problem on your end since i've got no issues at all.

I did verify game files. Still no improvement. It might be something to do wit graphics driver. But it seems only to be with snowrunner. I will do further tests to see what the problem could be.

Do you have tons of mods installed? Actually i remember 1 singular mod making everything load up like 10X as slow.
How long does SR take to load up and become playable? (wait - i'll time it)

Starting with the Steam window - click SR and 'PLAY' - wait 45 seconds for menu to appear. Click 'Continue' (I think?) and wait 40 seconds for game to be ready to play.

I have a newish midrange system with SSDs.

"Slow" is relative and subjective; from clicking the first time to run the game to the main menu around 45 secs, then from "continue" to the last save around 25 secs. This gives us 70 secs.....is this slow? I don´t know, never saw it like this.
It's not like the old says when you could fit 5 games on 1 floppy disk. These newfangled games are very huge.

The load up time to the main is fast. The time from start game to main menu is fast as normal. The moment the image of the game comes up, it takes about 15 seconds until I can even hit enter to go to the options menu where you` can choose between new game, continue, load game, mod browser, credits and exit. Nvidia overlay displays 99% gpu usage with 2fps. From there the system is too slow to continue. I use mods at a minimum. even after verifying integrity of game files with no manual mods it stills behaves the same. I reinstalled nvidia driver and updated windows.

I am going to try slowclick's method. \
Normally from launching the game to the main menu and continuing until I can start the play takes less than 75 seconds.
Everything is fast as usual until the white snow season 15 main menu starts to come up.

Another thing I have noticed that looks different is that on nvidia control panel at manage 3 settings, where you can choose between program settings and global settings. There it displays "windows OS now manages selection of the graphics processor.
It is set to dedicated high performance nvidia processor.

I there a simple solution in changing files or something? Or should I rather just try to reinstall snowrunner?

From clicking play on steam, which then displays saber then focus then havok to the moment the snowrunner logo appears, takes the normal 34 seconds. Then the crawling starts. When I see the snowrunner logo appears it takes 24 seconds until I can press enter to enter the main menu options. Then from pressing enter until I click continue is 34 seconds. From Continue to where I see the garage takes 43 seconds. To try to play it is as it has severe latensy at 2fps.

I tried mudrunner an the same happens.

Seems like that startup time is normal, so maybe there is something off with the game setting. Try lowering the graphics settings and see what happens. And post the system (CPU, CPU, RAM etc) too please.
Try having 93 mods installed XD Takes 5 mins to get into save after start, But after that runs fine.
My mod folder is larger than the game itself. and it still works.
Solid ass game guys.

Asus tuf laptop. RTX 4060 8GB Ryzen 7 7735HS gaming edition 16gb ddr5 4800mhz.

Reinstalled drivers and all that kind of stuff.
I found the problem.
Base clock speed stuck at 210mhz.
I did reset gpu clocks in command prompt but no change.

maybe it runs on internal graphics
