Something I have noticed over the past month or so is that some titles are being developed and released without being noticed very little or not at all.
I put this down to Steam becoming saturated. Were you have more games on offer than users. I think this trend is only going to rise as time goes by. Games, some of them gems will come and go unnoticed by anyone.
You tuber are working might and day to try and bring titles to our notice but there are only so many vids they can put out and the influx of new games are rapidly overtaking those limits.
The future looks bleak for the new indie dev with his or her new game. Not only do they have to develop something new but they have to fight to bring the game some exposure, to push it up through the piles and piles of games packed in the steam library, all screaming to be noticed.

This is why dev's need to be very careful these days, that they don't gain a bad reputation. Their reputation is the only thing that will put their future titles above water.

A couple of years ago this game Empires will fall would have been hot, something a lot of people would be playing and talking about. Might have even zoomed to the best sellers list, but these days the reception is not even slightly warm, and that's not because it's a bad game, it's because eyes are not falling upon it.

Because it sucked.

I meant Desert Ashes, Empires Shall Fall is fine, for what it is.

It was the description and reviews of Desert ashes, it sound like it was a game hastily knocked up by someone not really knowing what hey were doing. I wouldn't even think about buying that game.

Well one could argue that Advanced Wars cloned Battle Isle ;)

No, your right. Battle Isle was the original. It was the first of many original games that years later got cloned and renamed. If I remember right it was made by Blue Byte.
This game is a clone of Battle Isle. or a reimagining of Battle Isle.

Wasn't Advance Wars one of those sucky childish Japanese games?

After doing some research I'm pretty sure it all goes back to Gendai Daisenryaku, released 6 years before Battle Isle on the PC-98.

Sucky? It may not of been the first but a lot of games have copied its design for a while so no.
