Great game but... saving in the registry? come on.
I really enjoy this game. However, a big middle finger to the developers for putting save game data in the windows registry. This is a serious fail and wtf-worthy decision. Whoever was responsible for this call really needs to reconsider the act of cluttering up such a crucial part of the windows system with useless data (in terms of the os).

Agree. And how do we backup the progress?

Bump. Hope devs makes an update regarding this. That wouldn't be so hard, right?

Saving save game data in registry is not only dumb move, but it's also hard to backup. I lost my saves in my previous computer because it does not carry in my game backups software.

We agree that saving data into the Windows registry isn't the best way to go. It's unfortunately the default method used in the Unity game engine (a surprisingly popular game engine used for many games). I hope that get fixed in Unity some time.

Well how is progress saved in the linux version then? Since there is no registry it must be saved to a file somewhere. Any way to edit this file in order to transfer progress from windows version?

In the Linux version all Unity3D savegames are stored in ~/.config/unity3d/[Publishername]/[Gamename]/

I presume you are using Unity's playerprefs, right?
Well there should be other workaround, isn't it? I thought this is kind of easy to built your own save system in Unity. I know some other Unity games that can accomplish this.

There are several guides around the web teaching how to save the game on a xml file with unity. Not sure if xml is the best workaround, but should at least be helpful.

Ah, crap. I came here to find where my save file was located on my HDD backup after having to reformat the HDD to install a new OS.

I guess that answers that. It's gone.
