Ammo system, possible bug?

I've just started playing and noticed you can just continue firing the shotgun when it runs out of ammo, seemingly without penalty.

Does the shotgun have infinite ammo, and do the shells you pick up have extra damage or something?

After you running out of ammo shotgun starts fire using your health. This works only for this weapon.

I see. Guess I didn't notice the health going down, that's quite a unique mechanic!

I have something else to report, my achievements haven't been unlocking for some reason.

Yes I know about achievements. Sometimes they haven't unlock. I will fix this issue as soon as it possible.

Oh yeah, that's because it's a VERY low penaltly. Literally 1hp per Health Shell (I'll call them Health Shells). Reasonable that it isn't too steep, given that you have no form of infinite ammo weapon in the game. I think i like it. An easily-manageable penalty, just to be like"hey, maybe don't do this for too long."
