All weapons in the game are tuned to be powerful and effective without additional damage. It's good on its own, but the violins are more of a nice addition. A 10% damage increase is hard to notice, but starting at 20% the effect becomes significant. It is best seen on weapons that deal damage often in small amounts. On large guns such as a double-barreled shotgun, the effect is less noticeable. I'll explain why. Let's say that the enemy has 150 health, a shot from a double-barreled shotgun deals 100 damage, so we need two shots to kill the enemy. But even if we get a 20% damage bonus, we will deal 120 damage, which still requires us to deals 2 shots to kill. It seems that there is no effect, but let's not forget that the weapon has a spread. More damage will allow us to kill the enemy as before with 2 shots, but from a greater distance and with less accuracy.
