Rank 2 and Rank 3 units should sell for more
Selling a rank 2 unit and having it only sell for 30 like other units feels realllllllly bad. The higher the star, the more a unit should sell for tbh.

I'm ok with silver selling for 30g. You're getting the symbol from the unit when you silver them, and that's worth vastly more than 30g. Rank 3/gold units do need something more to them though, it's really underwhelming to gold a character for the ridiculous cost/luck required.

60g (buy 3 units, sell 1 combined unit, 90g-30g) to earn two symbols is already meta, making that amount lower would drive gameplay even more towards selling every leveled unit you make.

Why would you ever sell a Rank 3 unit?

to replace it with a higher tier? commons even at level 3 have lower stats (except HP) than a rare at level 2 in general

Wait. You KEEP the symbols of characters you sell? What the cheese! That's what that meant in the tutorial. . .whoof. Someone needs to do another pass on this to make it much more clearer.

It was explicity stated. AFTER the first merge you keept the symbols. Its a key mechanic.

"Barge the lathe" is an explicit statement. It doesn't mean it is a clear one. Emphasizing this feature with more than an infographic would go a long way towards helping folks get over certain difficulty humps.

You see it with every merge, as the characters merged is taken from the current group, but the symbols don't change. After merge the symbols stay the same, added to group or not, that should be a big red arrow, As you have to follow the symbols for closely for effective play. All symbols from cards gained also are greyed out, not matter whether you have them in the party or not, this is a more supple hint but can also tip you off. If you ever merge a character not in the party already you can even see then symbols add, while doing it. I'm all for making things clearer, but it's not the only mechanic in the game, and there is already some emphasis on it. Maybe a graphical recap of the tutorial could help, for players that rather check the mechanics in their time (You might have meant that by having an infographic?).

If you were gonna sell why did you make one in the first place? You basically only make gold star units if you want their skill in your late game party. You wasted so much gold for nothing otherwise.
Coxatris 1 Jun, 2021 @ 1:28pm
What if Gold Star units could count their symbol again while in the party? So, if you had a gold, you could get double symbols from that one unit (one banked for getting silver, and one for having the gold in your party)?

Just a thought.

It didnt take me long to figure out, but I agree it could be clearer, I wasnt sure at the start so held on to people. I figured it out when I took the plunge and tried to sell one.

I believe ALL it tells you is that you 'keep' the symbols when you merge. You have a storage so I thought it ment I could hold characters in the storage. Like I said, I didnt figure it out until I was forced to sell someone.

That would just be even more confusing to newer players.

IMO the best way to handle this is to follow what dota underlords did and give the gold star units additional skills. That would make them actually fun units to build around
Thultex 2 Jun, 2021 @ 1:52am
Adding a skill to gold stars would be a great addition indeed!

Could easily break the game further but that'd be interesting.

IMO I liked another player's suggestion that gold stars should unlock a second ability/trait/passive. Although, maybe that should be saved for additional difficulty levels? I mean, the mechanic released at the same time as more levels are released.

No. It couldn't be clearer.

Anyone who missed this either didn't read, or has poor reading comprehension. That's NOT the fault of the devs.
