OP, that dungeon took me a few tries, as well. There are a few things it seems like you could do differently.
1: Don't be too caught up on unit rarity. Lower-rarity units usually do just fine, especially since they're easier to get and thus easier to upgrade.
2: I don't know what your party composition has been, but try to have a healer or two Spessar is my favorite, and bronze rarity too so he's easy to get.
3: Do upgrade units to rank 3 if you can. This is one of the reasons lower rarity units are good; being more common makes them way easier to upgrade, and the stat increases from the second upgrade are significant. A rank 3 bronze or silver will almost always be better than a rank 2 gold. That being said, it takes a lot to reach level 3, so try not to blow all your resources on it, especially since there's something else important.
4: That thing is symbols. Once a unit has been upgraded to rank 2, you keep its symbols for the rest of the run even if you sell it, and symbols can make a big difference. It's smart to upgrade units to rank 2 even if they won't be in your main party just for their symbols. Some of the ones I find best are Green (extra HP), Yellow (shock, which activates every time the enemy is damaged, so it adds up), Plum Crest (healing), Pink (speeds gem cooldown), Justice (extra damage that increases every turn) and... the shield one I don't remember if it's called Shield or something else (gives a damage-absorbing barrier at the start of every turn). Pay attention to the symbols on your accessories, too; it can often be better to keep an accessory with a worse effect just for its symbols.
5: Don't be afraid to have multiples of certain gems, especially shield gems. Shield gems are important; bosses especially can hit hard with their specials, especially ones with multiple actions.
Hopefully this helps.
Ah that makes sense. I saw Witch Maze and the number 10 and put them together subconsciously. If you are new to Witch Mazes, then it makes sense that you ran into a tough fight that you weren't prepared for. You have a log book which will show you the stats on the enemy units that you've encountered. You can look at the unit that you died to in order to determine what would counter it. Heed the advice of GuyYouMetOnline since it is solid for where you're at. Good luck on your Witch Maze runs, and I'm sorry that I've been rude previously.
