Let me explain why.
I started to play this game just for fun, but after some time, i saw that there are a lof of different optionts to the characters etc.
This is very exciting, but in Which Maze - you have to say "♥♥♥♥ you" to all the fun, because you have to build specific team, with specific items, just to beat it.
To somebody its cool, to me - its trash and kill all the fun in the game.
So i try to play just for fun, even willingly killing myself in the end, cuz i want to have fun and not boring grind fiesta.
But, to each his own, i guess.
I do agree with you that this type of gameplay is not for everyone. I suspect that most people will find Witch Maze 9 to be too difficult to figure out. For someone like me, it allows for creative freedom, but for others they cannot find creative solutions to the difficult challenges presented at the higher tiers of difficulty. This makes it appear like a game mode that stifles fun builds and forces specific team compositions, but its far from that in reality once you've mastered it.
Perhaps they could add a Standard mode that would fit your playstyle. I'd also like a Nightmare mode that fits my playstyle.
Like, there are some RNG to this, plus not everyone has a lot of time to grind this, cuz there is a bit of grinding here, im on holidays, so i can do it, lol, but still, i wish it would be like...2 mods, as you said - normal mode and some sort of hardcore-ish, but i guess witch maze is already some sort of harder difficulty.
After 28 hours, i can say.
The only bad thing about Witch Maze - me.
You just need to learn this game, and you gonna be fine.
Sure, sometimes RNG can roll you and you gonna die, but it is in the start only, if it is mid game or late game - you can control a lot of things.
Plus, you can easily farm gold characters, but you have to use your gold with brains and do not rage roll even in mid game for golden charcters, you can waste some gold, but be patient.
So yeah, its pretty good. i was wrong.
The game can be beaten 100% of the time with proper skill on the highest Witch's Maze difficulty. Part of being skillful means managing risk. Variability and randomness in this type of game are part of the challenge.
