Passing level 6 without using the green portal will indeed make all progress difficult as it shows the basic concepts of this portal. I have modified this level a bit to (hopefully) prevent passing it without using this portal and hope it is clearer now.
Does lowering the settings help resolve the performance issue? Can you please tell me your processor and graphics card type so I can look into this? You can also send in an email p3tt.game@gmail.com
Thanks!

Spoiler version (read at your own risk of losing fun):
Stop the orange portal so it is on the wall high in the corner, then place the blue portal on the floor so you fall through it. When you land, place the blue portal where you landed. It will make you fall through twice, after which you will have built enough momentum to grab the orange gun.
Yes that is correct, this was meant to be the original solution but players seemed to be getting stuck more than they should so I've simplified it.
Placing the organe portal high on the wall, the blue portal on the floor and falling through once is now enough to reach the orange gun.
Thanks for the info about the specs. It seems they are lower than the recommended. Have you tried lowering the settings to medium?
I figured out how to use the time portal this time and got a few more levels, but then I broke a puzzle and needed to re-try it, and I noticed an essential thing your game needs: a 'restart this room' option! I'll take another shot at it later.
Keep at it! It'd be great if this game got some attention from the right people.
I'm really glad you like the game and got quite far at it. Please don't hesitate to give any suggestions you like. You can also email me at p3tt.game@gmail.com if you'd like to discuss more thoroughly or avoid possible spoilers.
Thanks!
