It's about 95% accurate for most homebrewing, yes. It's missing several time-consuming and major aspects of the process though (obsessive cleaning/sanitizing and bottling) in order to make it a fun game to play.

It works great with a controller, that is how I play. you will need a keyboard to type beer names in, and sometimes having a mouse is nice for label creation.
