After only a year from release the Developer has stated that it has abandoned this game. Apparently there are a lot of bugs that will never be fixed. I have set the developer to be ignored on steam and removed the game from my wish list. I would recommend any people considering buying this game do the same.

Technically they abandoned it much sooner than that. As someone said in another thread the game release date was 29/09/2022 - last patch release date was 14/10/2022. The console version released 27/10/2022, so it would be interesting to see if they patched that at all.

It's a real shame, because there's a good game at the heart of it and just needed some tweaks and bug fixes to get to greatness. I don't 100% regret my purchase as I've had fun with it, but buyer beware.

A really shoddy way to do business....

So in other words, not worth the discount this week. Damn.

It's understandable that games get shut down when sales don't kick in [anymore]. Ppl need to eat, after all. However, shutting down so early, not even fixing bugs and providing basic technical support for customers who have paid actual money, is borderline valid at best.

They should also add a big disclaimer on the sales page: "Not actively developed anymore!".

I guess I will ignore this publisher in the future, too.

you guys are overreacting here: yeah there are a few bugs here and there, nothing game breaking and none that are even remotely frequent. yes the game has, unforunately, stopped being developed but its far from an unfinished game, quite the opposite. its a fully fledged title that probably needs one more QoL/bug passover to be considered a "stable" final build.

defintely worth buying at a discount; its still an awesome game and the mechanics are very well developed.

if they released DLCs for making wine, spirits, even bread and cheese, I would buy them without hesitation. Even a DLC that added a considerable amount of tools to the kitchen (20-30 atleast) like measuring items, thermometers, different sized tubing, water splitters (although you can already do this with a bit of creativity, due to the gravity-defying properties of a couple of the cooling items), etc.

or they could sell the IP to a developer who is interested in developing it further!

As someone who had tried the game 2 years before. the top cooling spiral that's supposed to fix a few issues of brewing still doesn't work. compared to day 1 release version? my recipes in the journal keep being entirely random on 2nd page after autosave so if you done goofed and reloaded? well there may have been a recipe you wanted but it's too late.

Bought it on sale, i think, still returned. it may have been good but no price validates such blatant neglect.

Pumps make a sound continuously and they stack every time I turn them on or off. Which means I have to either play without sound (which is a shame, I like the sounds otherwise) or never use pumps. I would say that is a pretty game breaking bug. Unless someone has a work around for this.

Abandoning your game is fine, but doing so while leaving it in a utterly buggy state is just sloppy. It is a bad look in any profession to leave a job unfinished.

Lowkey I only use the pumps to fill up the brewing pot, fermenting container and conditioning container faster. I tried twice to use pumps to optimise a cooling setup and it didn't pan out; first time I tried to use it to pump water faster through an immersion coil, it ended up filling the pot with water ruining the wort, and the other time I was trying to pump the cooled wort back into the pot as it flowed into the counterflow chiller and that ended up making the wort just vanish into thin air so... yeah, i guess only using it three times isn't too bad, and it does vanish when I enter the tasting menu, but it is massively egregious as a bug either way. I'm sure the Boltgun money is good but they couldn't even spare like three guys to look over the code and just make sure it's bug free?

What is sad is that I tried to play it again and I just couldn't go through with it. My enthusiasm has been killed for this game due to the way they left it....A shame tho, I really got into this game too.

Funny because their next game after this one is Warhammer 40K: Boltgun (a clone of Classic Doom, basically), which is actually really good.
