Recipe Creator
So, I'm pretty new to the game, and I've been experimenting with the recipe creator. It's finicky, so I thought I'd share what I've discovered.

1) The recipe creator does not work in imperial units. It cycles through about 3-4 different ingredient amounts when you hit the plus or minus, and then it resets. If you try to type it in, it ignores you and puts its own value into the recipe instead (usually a low number of ounces)
-- The good news is that there is a simple, if annoying, solution. Just hit escape, switch to metric, use the recipe creator, and let it save. Then hit escape again and switch back to imperial. The units will all be changed to imperial automatically.

2) The UI (as usual) is clunky. If you use guided mode, it won't let you do some things that you might want to do (like skip the flavor hops step). It also does not sort grains into their respective categories, which is odd since the guided mode encourages you to start with a base malt and then add malts of other kinds.
-- The solution to the step skipping problem is to add the unwanted step and then go back and edit the recipe, which brings me to my next point.

3) The game allows you to edit your recipe, but then it doesn't look like it works. You hit edit, and it let's you change the name and beer type, but it looks like the only option for changing the ingredients or instructions is to delete the whole thing and start over.
-- It turns out, this is deceptive. If you mouse over the box of instructions until it lights up (it's finicky, so you might have to wiggle the mouse a bit or move it around to get it to light up and stay lit) and then click, it opens the editor that lets you change the ingredients and steps. [Doing this, I was able to delete the flavor hops step that was getting in the way of making the recipe I needed for the Malt-teaser job.]
--Unfortunately, adjusting ingredient amounts is a pain. You have to make note of the ingredient you want to change, click on it, then select it again from the list, and then change the amount. It doesn't even highlight the existing ingredient so that you can find it again easily. It does, however, retain the amount that you had chosen before.

That's all I've learned for now. I hope it helps others.
